Hollow Knight: Silksong is Available, At Last

Hollow Knight Silksong

From its humble beginnings as DLC for Hollow Knight to a full-fledged game that became a meme for never coming out, Team Cherry’s Hollow Knight: Silksong is finally available. It’s playable on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. You can also check it out on Game Pass.

Perhaps the most hilarious thing about Silksong’s release is that it effectively broke Steam upon going live. Many (including myself) were unable to access the store page or even check out the title from their cart. A quick peek at the SteamDB page reveals that the sequel is “sustaining a very high amount of traffic,” so the current player numbers are likely higher than reported.

It’s not just Steam, though, as various other storefronts have been facing trouble since Silksong’s launch. The Verge’s Tom Warren posted about trying to purchase it on Xbox and Nintendo Switch 2, alongside Steam and having no luck. Of course, servers should stabilize over time, so stay tuned.

In the meantime, check out our features for Hollow Knight: Silksong, which details everything you should know and the biggest differences from Hollow Knight.

Silksong is hammering the Steam, Nintendo, Xbox, and PlayStation stores 😅
