With id Software’s DOOM: The Dark Ages out in less than three weeks, it didn’t seem possible that the studio had more to reveal. However, director Hugo Martin revealed something new in the latest trailer – the Cosmic Realm.
Remember when Cthulhu suddenly appeared in the previous trailer, just out of nowhere? It turns out that Hell and the Cosmic Realm have allied – that means dealing with new enemies, like the Cosmic Baron. He’ll relentlessly swipe at the Slayer, and parrying is the only way to survive.
Then there’s the new Cacodemon hybrid, which can stun with its tentacles. To deal with all these terrors, the Slayer has the Reavershot, a new gun that launches a heavy iron ball and chain into the face of enemies. Charge it up and watch the havoc ensue.
DOOM: The Dark Ages launches on May 15th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. It’s also out on day one for Game Pass.
