Hazelight Studios’ next big game was teased in October, with Dealabs’ billbil-kun revealing Split Fiction as its alleged name. The latter has a new report available, and it seems that the title will be revealed at The Game Awards next week. It will also reportedly launch on March 6th, 2025, for consoles and PC, though the exact platforms are unknown.
Split Fiction has apparently been in development for two years, though the gameplay and premise are still up in the air. Hazelight previously confirmed it’s a new IP with co-op and EA Originals publishing. The teaser images, per billbil-kun, seemingly point to “dynamic screen sharing”, which could involve switching between different screen visions.
Regardless of how it plays, studio founder Josef Fares says it will be “even better” than It Takes Two and blow people away. A reveal is certainly possible, given the studio’s history with the show, including the announcement of It Takes Two in 2020 (which went on to win Game of the Year in 2021).
Stay tuned for more details from The Game Awards 2024 on December 12th at 4:30 PM PST.
