Hollow Knight: Silksong Marketing Lead Reaffirms Launch on Nintendo Switch 1
Roughly a week after the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, it still doesn’t seem real that Team Cherry’s Hollow Knight: Silksong will launch this year. Announced in 2019 and facing numerous delays, the Metroidvania title briefly appeared during the Direct with a few seconds of gameplay.
The development team hasn’t offered any new updates or details since then. However, Matthew Griffin, in charge of marketing and publishing for Silksong, tweeted, “Just to clarify…Hollow Knight: Silksong is coming to both Nintendo Switch AND the Nintendo Switch 2.” He also reposted a tweet from Nintendo of Europe about the 2025 release window. Plans can always change, though.
Hollow Knight: Silksong is also coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox One, PC and Xbox Series X/S while launching on day one for Game Pass. The story focuses on Hornet, Hallownest’s princess, who is captured and transported to a new kingdom.
Alongside new combat mechanics, players can embark on new quests, take on over 150 new enemies and partake in the new challenging Silk Soul mode. Stay tuned for more details and a definite release date in the coming months.
