MindsEye Developer is “Heartbroken” Over Launch State, Outlines Further Patches

To say that MindsEye had a rough launch would be an understatement. Between negative reviews on Steam, PlayStation offering refunds and various issues on all platforms, Build A Rocket Boy has its hands full. It already confirmed the next hotfix for the end of this week, but the development team has issued another statement on Reddit, this time outlining other upcoming fixes.

“We are heartbroken that not every player was able to experience the game as we intended. Our priority is optimizing performance and stability so that every player, across every device, can enjoy an equally high-quality experience.

“Our teams have worked tirelessly throughout the night to solve many of these issues, and we have now identified that the vast majority of crashes were caused by a memory leak. This impacted roughly 1 in 10 of our players.” The first hotfix will address this issue and many others, with the developer working hard to deploy it tomorrow and as soon as possible on consoles after it passes certification.

The next hotfix is due next week and will make further improvements to performance and stability while quashing other bugs (including one that caused players to fall through the world in Car Manufacturing). By the end of this month, Update 3 will offer AI improvements, animation fixes, a rebalanced Hard mode and other performance and stability optimization.

MindsEye is available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Check out our review – we awarded it a five out of ten.
