With so many big titles occupying headlines in September, it’s easy to forget that Star Wars Outlaws launched less than three weeks ago. As one of Ubisoft’s blockbuster releases, with an extensive marketing budget, there’s been no news on its sales or even a celebration by the publisher. However, it’s estimated to have sold about 800,000 units on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S per Ampere Analysis’ Piers Harding-Rolls.
Speaking on the recent GI Microcast with James Batchelor and Chris Dring of Games Industry, he revealed that the estimate is for August end. While Outlaws launched globally on August 30th, early access went live on August 27th for Gold and Ultimate Edition owners. With less than a week and PC numbers to consider, it may have crossed one million sold.
Nevertheless, physical launch sales in the UK have been somewhat underwhelming, coming in about half of Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Such was the response that Ubisoft stock prices dived. Time will tell if sales pick up, so stay tuned. For more details on Star Wars Outlaws, check out our review here.
