Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Reaches 4.5 Million Players

Saber Interactive’s Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has achieved a new player milestone, topping 4.5 million players since launching last month. At last count, it hit two million players within two days of its worldwide launch.

The third-person shooter has done pretty well since then, becoming the second-biggest new release in Europe for 2024. It also set a record for peak concurrent players on Steam for the Warhammer franchise, reaching staggering 225,690 players on September 9th during advanced access.

Of course, as the tweet from Focus Entertainment notes, this is only the beginning. Saber recently showcased content coming in Season 2, including a new Operation, a new enemy in the Hierophant Bio-Titan, Lethal difficulty, and more. Players will also receive a Horde mode, new PvP arenas and modes, and more for free in the coming months.

Beyond that, the developer has discussed ideas internally for a sequel or DLC, though nothing is confirmed. For now, Space Marine 2’s success has been so significant that it’s informing all projects at the studio going forward.
