Relic Entertainment’s Dawn of War franchise has remained dormant following the third game’s failure, but that doesn’t mean it can’t revisit the first game. Available now on PC, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War – Definitive Edition is an enhanced version of the 2004 real-time strategy classic featuring the base campaign, expansions and several new quality-of-life features. Check out the launch trailer below.
Between nine factions, four campaigns, and over 100 maps for Skirmish, there is a lot of content for newcomers at only $29.99. Long-time players can avail upgraded textures, widescreen support, an optimized HUD for higher resolutions, an improved camera, and better lighting and shadows. You can even leverage new hotkey options or stick with the classic setup.
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War – Definitive Edition also includes an in-game mod manager, allowing players to select and activate their favorite mods. Stay tuned for more details and potential updates, including performance improvements, in the coming days.
