Ghost of Yōtei and The Outer Worlds 2 Confirmed for Gamescom Opening Night Live

Ghost of Yotei

While PlayStation isn’t attending Gamescom 2025, Sucker Punch Productions’ Ghost of Yōtei will be present at Gamescom Opening Night Live, according to host Geoff Keighley. Conversely, while The Outer Worlds 2 has an “exclusive theater presentation” during Xbox’s broadcast days, it’s also confirmed for the showcase.

Ghost of Yōtei launches on October 2nd for PS5 and picks up over 300 years after Ghost of Tsushima. Its protagonist, Atsu, embarks on a quest for vengeance in Ezo against the Yōtei Six. Sucker Punch recently released some new gameplay, focusing on the kusarigama and then the yari.

The Outer Worlds 2, meanwhile, arrives on October 29th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Previously priced at $79.99 before dropping to $69.99, it ventures to the colony of Arcadia to investigate some mysterious rifts. The “theater presentation” will focus on the Tomb of the Matriarch in the Protectorate’s territory.

As for Gamescom Opening Night Live, it will stream at 11 AM PDT on August 19th with reveals for Silent Hill f, Lords of the Fallen 2, and more. Keighley also confirmed a musical performance for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Stay tuned for updates in the meantime.
