Pearl Abyss has finally revealed the console frame rates and resolutions for Crimson Desert ahead of its launch next week. PS5 and Xbox Series X have three graphical modes: Performance, Balanced and Quality.
Performance delivers 1080p at 60 FPS with VSync enabled, but if you have a display that supports VRR, then 60+ FPS is possible. Balanced delivers upscaled 4K (from 1280p courtesy of FSR 3) and 40 FPS with VSync, though once again, you’ll need a display that supports 120/240 Hz. Quality offers 4K upscaled from 1440p via FSR 3 and 30 FPS VSync with ray tracing set to High. The other modes offer ray tracing at Low.
PS5 Pro is clearly the best way to play on consoles, with Performance mode offering upscaled 4K from 1080p via PSSR, 60 FPS with VSync (60+ FPS with VRR) and ray tracing at High. Balanced mode provides upscaled 4K from 1440p thanks to PSSR, 40 FPS with VSync (48+ FPS with VRR) and ray tracing at High. Finally, Quality mode delivers native 4K at 30 FPS with VSync and ray tracing set to Ultra.
Finally, for all those still on Xbox Series S, it offers only two modes: 720p/40 FPS with VSync on compatible displays (Performance) and 1080p/30 FPS with VSync (Quality). Ray tracing is off for both.
Obviously, we’ll need more detailed breakups and performance metrics, but with Crimson Desert launching on March 19th, it won’t be long now.
