Following Rick Strowd’s arrival in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, developer SNK Corporation has now announced that the next roster addition will be Duck King on August 27th. The announcement was made with a trailer showcasing some of Duck King’s slick moves, both for dancing and fighting. Check it out below.

Interestingly, it looks like the breakdancing character’s moveset will also involve some light rhythm-based gameplay elements, since the trailer indicated that players can get grades like “Bad” after wrapping up some combos. The Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves iteration of Duck King seems to largely rely on strikes that mix up high, medium, and low attacks to keep enemies on their toes.

On the story side of things, Duck King has a friendly rivalry with South Town hero Terry Bogard, as well as a love for the Pao Pao Café. The character can be found mostly hanging out at the café, and is voiced by Cedric Williams in English and Anri Katsu in Japanese.

Duck King is the second of six planned season 3 characters for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. September will see the release of Kim Kaphwan, and the only other confirmed character is Laocorn Gaudeamus, slated for a November release. The roster additions slated for October and December are going to be surprises.

Season 3 of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves was announced just last month with a trailer that showcased many of the characters coming to the game. Long-time fans of the franchise were treated to a collage of 2D sprites of these characters from previous Fatal Fury and King of Fighters games, with SNK showing off how the visual style of the fighting game franchise has evolved over the years.

The third season of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves also brought along a Revenge Edition release of the game that includes all three seasons of content and is priced at $49.99. This means that characters ranging from Kenshiro to Joe Higashi and Chun-Li are all included. The start of the season also marked the first time that DLC characters were made available to purchase a la carte.

As the story of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves continues in the third season, SNK has noted that the theme this time around is “Destined for Revenge”. This is a replacement for Season 2’s “Legends Unleashed” theme, indicating that all of the characters coming out over the next few months will find themselves in South Town in their quest for revenge.

As for the most recent roster addition, Rick Strowd is a boxing pro whose moveset showcases just how well he could perform in the ring. Equipped with a variety of strikes and dodges, Strowd has plenty of ways to keep his opponents locked down as he juggles them around with his uppercuts and dashing jabs.

Duck King and Kim Kawphan were originally teased to be Season 3 DLC characters with an animated trailer released last month. The trailer also showcased some of the other roster additions that have been made to the fighting game.
