Playground Games’ Forza Horizon 5 was the latest first-party title from Xbox to make the jump to PlayStation 5 last April. Though Microsoft didn’t provide any sales figures, Harrison B., game designer at Turn 10 Studios, revealed on his LinkedIn profile that two million copies were sold in the first month.
As discovered by Timur222 on Twitter, the profile said, “Created cross-platform feature designs enabling Forza Horizon (PS5, 2025) to sell 2 million units in one month on PS5 alone.” It’s been updated to remove the sales figures, and while not officially confirmed, the figures are in line with initial estimates. Analyst firm Alinea Analytics reported 1.4 million sales in its launch week, which is impressive considering it was on sale for only two days in April.
Forza Horizon 5 is also available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC alongside Game Pass. The future of the franchise could very well lay in a new title, potentially to be announced next year. Regardless, a Forza Horizon sequel seems more likely than a new Forza Motorsport. Turn 10 Studios recently saw heavy layoffs, allegedly leading to the cancellation of the Motorsport series.
