Out of nowhere, Konami has dropped a new Metal Gear Production Hotline, with some updates from production producer Noriaki Okamura. Perhaps the most important question is regarding a release date for Metal Gear Sold Delta: Snake Eater, but he confirmed that they’re “still not able to name a date just quite yet.”
“We’re working very hard on the development, I promise,” said Okamura. “But we’re just not yet at the stage where we can say with confidence exactly when it will be out.” However, he did confirm that the entire game is “already playable, from start to finish, so we know it’s not going to be years and years. Nothing like that, I’m pretty sure.”
The development team is seemingly at the polishing stage, ensuring everything works properly. “We’re at the stage of ‘check this part,’ ‘fix that,’ looking over everything and taking care of any issues. And as developers, we want to take our time with that to make sure everything is done right.” Once the team has a “clearer picture”, fans will hear about it during the Production Hotline. In the meantime, Okamura asked for their patience.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is in development for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. The release date will be announced later this year, though it’s unknown exactly when (and rumors claim that the remake could launch in 2025). Stay tuned for updates, and check out our feature on all the new details, including the reported Quality and Performance modes for consoles, quality-of-life features like Quick-Dial, and much more.
