Capcom will bring a new trailer and hands-on demo for Monster Hunter Wilds to Gamescom later this month. As if to prepare attendees for the same, it’s begun releasing trailers detailing the various mechanics and new additions. Check them out below.
Focus Mode is perhaps the biggest new addition, letting players manually aim their shots and strikes. No more winding up a True Charged Slash with the Great Sword and missing because a monster leaps behind you (unless it ). Focus Mode also highlights new wounds on monsters – hitting these deals extra damage.
Players can also unleash Focus Strikes, which deal more damage to wounds. As for the other new features, the Seikret serves as a mount that can also auto-guide you to the quest objective. The Hook Slinger can toss projectiles at monsters to stun or blind them but also serves to quickly grapple items in the environment and pull down overhanging rocks.
The new weapon swapping feature is also briefly seen – it allows players to take a second weapon on hunts and switch to it on the Seikret without returning to base.
Monster Hunter Wilds launches in 2025 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Stay tuned for more details and trailers in the coming weeks.
