Star Wars: Battlefront (2015) is the Top-Selling Star Wars Game in US History

The magic of a story set in a galaxy far, far away never seems to fade away, and Circana analyst Mat Piscatella shared an interesting fact about Star Wars: Battlefront (2015) to celebrate May 4th, a date that’s now universally associated with the franchise.

It seems that Star Wars continues to hold sway among gamers, ranking 7th in its earnings overall, with Battlefront being the best-selling title in the entire Star Wars franchise. Of course, there have been other heavy hitters adding to its allure over the years, and we’ve Star Wars: Galactic Racer already up for pre-orders ahead of its upcoming release.

While we found the original release of Battlefront quite good, if a tad flawed, it has since risen to fame among fans and players alike. But if you’re a Star Wars fan, you’re likely to have enjoyed Star Wars: Battlefront 2, which had a much worse start but became absolutely beloved among fans.

As for the franchise’s future, we’d have loved some news about Star Wars: Eclipse, but it looks like the long wait for more information continues, with no end in sight, and a lot of external factors that have its fate hanging in the balance. We’re not holding our breath for that one, but it’s nice to know that Battlefront is getting its due more than a decade after its release.
