Tales of Eternia Remastered Announced, Releasing October 16

Tales of Eternia Remastered

There’s something about anime-styled RPGs that makes us quite eager to play them, and Tales of Eternia is definitely among that niche’s finer offerings, especially when considering the series as a whole.

Well, it’s getting a remastered version from TOSE and Bandai Namco hitting shelves on October 15 in Japan, with a global release slated for the next day. If you’re unfamiliar with this one, it follows protagonists Reid and Farah as they navigate two complex realms to help their friend Meredy remember her murky origins. Of course, things take wild turns, and the trio finds themselves in the middle of a story they had no idea they were signing up for.

The remaster brings the popular Aggressive Linear Battle Motion system to the table, making combat more exciting than the original release, alongside destination markers and toggles to turn off enemy encounters for those looking for a more relaxed time. There’s also a high-speed mode for auto-battles, and options to switch the graphics and audio back to the classic style if nostalgia’s the main appeal.

A Digital Deluxe Edition is also on the table, bringing a digital art book, soundtrack, and a few DLC items to the game. The trailer’s below if you want to have a look at the game before picking it up on Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Nintendo Switch, PC and PS5.
