Total War: Shogun 2 Complete Edition Pulled From Sale After Negative Response

Total War Shogun 2 Complete Edition

After a positive surprise announcement, Total War: Shogun 2 Complete Edition clearly hasn’t received the reception Creative Assembly and Sega hoped for since its PC launch.

It’s a bit of a messy situation, with complaints about performance, issues with mods, the return of some familiar bugs even as new ones have crept in and accusations of the undisclosed use of upscaled AI-generated images for its in-game artwork since its release. With previous versions of the game being pulled from the marketplaces they were on to make way for a new version that should have been optimized well enough for it to be the definitive version (that too costing $40 for new players0, it’s easy to see why it’s drawing the ire of the gaming community.

Sega has since taken to Bluesky to acknowledge problems with the game and announce it’s pulled it from stores and reinstated previous iterations until it can iron things out. If you already bought the Complete Edition and are having fun with it, you can continue playing. New interested players, however, will have to wait. We’d say it’s better to wait than be disappointed by a game that isn’t meeting your standards, though. Stay tuned for more details and potential updates in the meantime.
