It Takes Two Crosses 16 Million Units Sold
It Takes Two took the games industry by storm when it launched back in 2021, enjoying widespread acclaim from critics and audiences alike and raking in numerous accolades and awards at the end of the year. Hazelight Studios’ co-op platformer has, thankfully enough, also enjoyed commercial success to reflect its critical acclaim, and is, in fact, continuing to sell at an impressive rate.
Commemorating the three-year anniversary of It Takes Two’s release with a recent tweet, developer Hazelight Studios announced that the game has now sold over 16 million units worldwide. At last count, in February last year, it stood at 10 million units sold, so it’s clearly maintained impressive momentum with its sales.
Hazelight also revealed that It Takes Two has been played by over 30 million players since its release. It’s worth noting that every copy of It Takes Two is sold with a Friend’s Pass, which allows a friend to play the game with you without having to purchase it.
In our review of It Takes Two, we awarded it a score of 8/10, saying, “While its story and characters could have used more work, It Takes Two is a fantastic co-op game that moves masterfully from genre to genre and never overstays its welcome.” Read the full review through here.
It Takes Two is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
