New previews for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater have gone live, offering more details on the road to the remake’s release. Speaking to the PlayStation Blog, producer Noriaki Okamura discussed many already-revealed features while noting that the original goal “was to keep things as close to the original as possible.”
“But, obviously, over the course of 20 years, the way people play games has evolved and changed. So we looked at modern action games to ensure Delta was on par with some of those, so it doesn’t detract from the experience.” The Modern and Classic control styles (with the former offering a more traditional over-the-shoulder camera) are one step in that direction alongside the revamped menus.
However, there are also new accessibility options, like changing color correction and the center dot display, not having to hold the button for grabs, and how you ready weapons and equipment. Further details are still pending, so stay tuned for a full breakdown, ideally in the coming months.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, with a release date to be announced later this year. Though PlayStation initially touted a 2024 launch window, it could arrive in 2025, as previously rumored.
