1047 Games’ Splitgate 2 has received extensive gameplay footage, introducing the three factions players can choose from in matches. Check it out below.
The factions serve as separate classes due to their unique skills and roles. Aeros is frag-minded, utilizing a skill to increase movement and reload speed while quickly moving through portals. Meridian is more utility-based, from throwing down healing grenades to placing dome shields that slow enemies within them.
Sabrask is the faction least reliant on portals, as they can hold down points with grenades and Smart Walls. Of course, the real magic comes from mixing and matching each faction’s skills in a match. Are some of them very reminiscent of Destiny 2’s classes? Sure, but given the first game takes inspiration from Halo, it somehow feels right.
Splitgate 2 launches in 2025 for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, and PC. It will be playable at Gamescom later this month, so stay tuned for more details.
