Grand Theft Auto 6 has some company in the delay department as IO Interactive has announced it’s pushing back the release of 007 First Light. Don’t worry, though – the action-adventure title will now be releasing two months later on May 27th, 2026.
In a Bluesky post, studio CEO Hakan Abrak revealed that the project is “fully playable from beginning to end,” and that the additional time “will allow us to further polish and refine the experience, ensuring we deliver the strongest possible version at launch.” As the company’s “most ambitious project to date” with far more systems than its Hitman franchise, Abrak also feels that the decision “allows us to ensure the experience meets the level of quality you players deserve on day one.”
Of course, there will be more updates on the title early next year, so stay tuned for that. Besides, with Crimson Desert, Replaced, Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection and more launching in the same month, shifting to a less busy month could pan out better. Unless other big games are announced for the same time, that is.
007 First Light is coming to Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Check out the latest trailer, which showcases Lenny Kravitz as Bawma, one of the antagonists.
