The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine 5th Anniversary Stream Announced for May 28th

The Witcher 3 Blood and Wine

When rumors aplenty flowed about a new DLC for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, only silence now remains. So naturally, it’s the perfect time for CD Projekt RED to announce a special anniversary stream for the expansion, Blood and Wine. It’s taking place on May 28th at 5 PM CEST/8 AM PST, and you can’t help but wonder if maybe, just maybe, an announcement is inbound.

It’s worth noting that environment art director Kacper Niepokólczycki will be present alongside story coordinator and senior writer Magdalena Zych. On the one hand, having such high-profile developers for an anniversary livestream feels a little much. On the other hand, no one says they can’t sit down for a little chitchat to discuss one of the best expansions ever made (second only to Hearts of Stone, personally).

We’ll have to wait for more details, but you could be forgiven for thinking the DLC never existed to begin with. Yes, even with a reliable insider like NateTheHate claiming it does, and even CD Projekt RED itself confirming “new content” is in the works (without specifying for what). Rumors claim the DLC is set near Velen and could serve as marketing for The Witcher 4.

One analyst believes it will launch before Grand Theft Auto 6, but then so will everything else. As always, stay tuned for updates and maybe a potential reveal on May 28th.
