During the inaugural Triple-i Initiative showcase, with titles like The Rogue Prince of Persia and Slay the Spire 2 announced, Pocketpair revealed the first teaser for Palworld’s Arena update. It will add PvP to the title, allowing players to fight each other with teams of three Pals. However, the team’s version of the teaser indicated that it would launch in Summer 2024, which was a mistake.
The developer apologized for this on Steam, and it’s currently working hard to “prepare the arena for you all as soon as possible.” However, it also revealed that a different update is coming this Summer instead. It adds a new island with a new Pal species, weapons, buildings and more.
Palworld is available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC, and currently in early access. It recently received its first post-launch content update, adding the raid boss Bellanoir, new items and various quality-of-life changes. Pocketpair is working on Pal trading between players, server transfers and migrations, and crossplay while in talks to bring the game to other platforms.
