Phantom Blade Zero Requires “At Least” 300 GB of Free Space for PC Pre-Load

Reviews are in for S-Game’s Phantom Blade Zero, and it’s currently one of 2026’s higher-rated games, averaging an impressive 88 Metascore. Pre-loading begins today at 7 PM PDT, and it should be straightforward, especially with the final PC requirements now available.

However, there is one teeny tiny caveat. S-Game recommends installing the hack-and-slash action RPG, which weighs a massive 145 GB, on a solid-state drive. That’s not too surprising – pretty much all modern double-A or triple-A titles require the same. No, it’s the fact that you’ll need at least 300 GB of free space for pre-loading. Emphasis on “at least.”

Leaving aside the game’s absolutely massive size, which is probably warranted given its length and fidelity, the requirement is pretty baffling. There’s no word on whether PS5 has to reserve the same, but this might put a damper on PC players who want to pre-load and immediately start playing at launch.

Phantom Blade Zero launches on October 29th, or more specifically, October 28th at 7 AM PDT. Check out our review for more details on what to expect. We scored it a 9, praising the combat (obviously) alongside the presentation, including the art direction and music. The story and exploration take time to open up, but they’re both compelling in their own right.
