Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition for Switch 2 Arrives on February 24th
Was ending its latest Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase with Todd Howard the right choice? Maybe, maybe not, but it does provide release dates for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition on Switch 2. The latter launches on February 24th with a physical edition available on April 28th.
As an updated bundle, Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition includes all previously released content, including single-player expansions like Automatron, Far Harbor and Nuka-World. The settlement-building aspects are also enhanced courtesy of DLC like Wasteland Workshop, Vault-Tec Workshop and Contraptions Workshop. Want to capture a Deathclaw and make it fight your settlers? Here’s your chance.
There are also more than 150 Creation Club items included, from different breeds for Dogmeat to Power Armor colors. If it follows the same process as other platforms, then the Anniversary Edition should be a paid upgrade for current owners.
The problem is that it effectively broke Fallout 4 when it originally launched last November. Not only did it result in several issues across the board for current owners (especially on PC), but you couldn’t opt out of installing the update. You can read all about it here, though Bethesda has released updates ever since to mitigate some of the damage.
